Career Highlights
George dedicated his life to athletics, particularly the pole vault. He was best known for supplying track and field athletes with up-to-date, safe equipment. Following on the work of Herb Jenks, George was instrumental in the development of the fiberglass vaulting pole.

George was a former vaulter himself. As the VP and GM of AMF Pacer, he helped design not only new vaulting poles, but also hurdles, starting blocks and jump standards.

He was inspirational to all who knew him for his concern and dedication to the sport. He passed away in 1982, shortly after he was enshrined in the Mt. SAC Hall of Fame.
