Career Highlights

Ron swept the Relays' intermediate hurdle title three consecutive years (1967-69). He recorded his best Relays performance in the 1968 Olympic year. He won in a meet record of 49.1 seconds, a 440y hurdle mark that was never bettered at the Relays.

Later that year he grabbed the third spot on the 1968 Olympic Team. In his opening heat at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he established a new Olympic Record of 49.0 seconds. However, he could finish no higher than 6th in the final, in a race won by David Hemery in a world record time of 48.12.
