Mt. SAC Relays
High School Sweepstakes Procedures

There will be a Grand Sweepstakes Team championship as well as a Sprint/Hurdle, Distance and Field Event Sweepstakes Championship awarded based on the following criteria:

1......... Scoring is based only on results of the Invitational Sections of each individual and relay event. Marks achieved in the Seeded or Open sections will not be considered.

2......... Scoring will be as follows:

            Individual Events:                                                                   Relay Events:

            1 -10           points                                                                     1 -20           points

            2 -8             points                                                                     2 -16           points

            3 -6             points                                                                     3 -12           points

            4 -4             points                                                                     4 -8             points

            5 -3             points                                                                     5 -6             points

            6 -2             points                                                                     6 -4             points

            7 -1             point                                                                       7 -2             points

3.         Sweepstakes Awards
Grand Sweepstakes Award:

         Scoring is based on points accumulated in all Invitational Level individual and relay events.
The winning team will receive the following:

                        -Championship Banner to take home on the day of the meet.

                        -A Second Championship Banner will be created and the name of the school will be printed on it. That Banner will be on permanent display at the Relays.

                        -Team will receive 20 custom “Mt. SAC Relays Sweepstakes Champions” shirts

                        -Coach will be named “Coach of the Year” and will receive a
“Coach of the Year Plaque”

            Sprint / Hurdle Sweepstakes Award:

         Scoring is based on points accumulated in all Invitational 100, 200, 400, 110/100H, 300H, 4 x 100, 4 x 200, 4 x 400, Shuttle Hurdle and Sprint Medley Relays.
The winning team will receive the following:

                        -Team will receive 15 custom “Mt. SAC Relays Sweepstakes Champions” shirts

                        -Coach will be named “Sprint/Hurdle Coach of the Year” and will receive a “Sprint/Hurdle Coach of the Year Plaque”

            Distance Sweepstakes Award:

         Scoring is based on points accumulated in all Invitational 800, 1600, 3200, 4 x 800, 4 x 1600 and Distance Medley Relays.
The winning team will receive the following:

                        -Team will receive 15 custom “Mt. SAC Relays Sweepstakes Champions” shirts

                        -Coach will be named “Distance Coach of the Year” and will receive a
“Distance Coach of the Year Plaque”

            Field Event Sweepstakes Award:

         Scoring is based on points accumulated in all Invitational Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus events.
The winning team will receive the following:

                        -Team will receive 15 custom “Mt. SAC Relays Sweepstakes Champions” shirts

                        -Coach will be named “Field Event Coach of the Year” and will receive a
“Field Event Coach of the Year Plaque”
